youth Despite his pastorate at St. Pauls and rector- ship at Central Catholic, the busy Reverend Henry f-luesman finds time to open our school year with Holy Mass, to distribute report cards to student parishioners, and to act as speaker at various religious and civic functions. This zealous priest undertook added responsibility when on April 25, he was appointed to the office of Diocesan Super- intendent of Schools. The graduating class extends heartfelt appreciation and gratitude as he assumes this new office and honor, Father Huesman and Father Leichner got right to work after their new assignments had been announced. ln his years as principal at Central Catholic, Reverend Raymond Leichner has watched the enrollment soar over the thousand markg but he has managed, somehow, to find time and place for every student. Wholly devoted to his vocation, Father keeps a watchful eye on study habits, dis- cipline and spiritual progress. As assistant super- intendent of schools in the new archdiocese, Father will have great added responsibilities. For his un- tiring efforts to keep Central on top the entire student body expresses its sincere thanks, Reverend Henry I, l-luosrnan Reverend Raymond I. Leichncr

The Right Reverend Monsignor Edward M. Reilly, l.C.D,, LL.D. gcfucators The Right Reverend Monsignor Edward M. Reilly is charged with the responsibility ot the entire educational system of the archdiocese. Last May, the Reverend Edward T, Hughes was named assistant superintendent and in September Central- ites took an added interest in the diocesan office when a faculty member - Reverend Francis B. Schulte-joined Father Hughes as assistant super- intendent. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has every reason to be proud of its diocesan school system and its leaders whose broad scope of vision and attentiveness to detail have insured a thorough education for the Catholic youth of the area. Monsignor Reilly's tremendous interest in Cath- olic education, along with his very gracious per- sonality, show his dedicated spirit to this worthy cause, and for this we are deeply grateful, His work in encouraging and furthering Catholic edu- cation has established for him a place of respect and admiration in the hearts of faculty and students alike. lU The Reverend Edward T.
