May I interrupt, please? Citadel nf Learning On September 3, Central Catholic High School once again opened its portals to the ever increasing student body. This year's enrollment, nearing the one thousand mark, was the largest in Central's history. In order to accommodate the spanking increase in the student popu- lation, every nook and corner of the sturdy Luden estate was utilized. The completion of the elegant new Sl50,000 home for the Sisters of Christian Charity on December l8'proved a 'boon for the Whole school. The vacated third floor Was rapidly transformed into a larger commercial department, a chapel for the students, a new classroom, and more convenient headquarters for the CENTRALMA staff. The added corridor space provided by the acquisition of the third Hoor for school purposes provided a satisfactory solution to the perennial problem of traffic in the halls between classes. 3P.fll. refresher In days of old when knights were bold

His Eminence The Most Reverend JOHN CARDINAL o'HARA, C.S.C., D.D., Archbishop of Philadelphia It Was a -cold November 30, but faculty, students, and spectators thronged to Witness the dedication of the new convent of the Sisters of Christian Charity. Promptly at 2:30, the lhlost Reverend John F. O'Hara laid the cornerstone and blessed Cur Lady of the Assumption Convent. The event prompted even greater jubilation, for a week earlier Pope John XXIII had appointed Archbishop O'Hara a member of the Sacred College of Cardinals. John Cardinal O'Hara was born in Ann Arbor, llichigan, May 1, 1888. He attended the Jesuit Colegio del Sagrada in Uruguay, Notre Dame University, Seminary of the Congregation of Holy Cross, and the Catholic University of America. Among the various positions Cardinal O'Hara has held are the presidency of Notre Dame University, membership in the U.S. delegation to the English Inter-American Congress, Titular Bishop of Mylasa, lVIilitary Delegate, Auxiliary Bishop of the Aimy and Navy Diocese, membership in the Board of Visitors of the U.S. Naval Academy, Bishop of Buffalo, vice-presidency of the Permanent Committee on Inter- national Eucharistic Congresses, and Archbishop of Philadelphia. 8 The Mos!
