I-ire Preparing Citizens REVEREND RAYlWOND LEICHNER Because of the untiring efforts of our principal, Father Raymond Leichner, many new additions were added to the school this year. Hot summer days found him presid- ing over the transformation of Room 204 into an ultra- modern biology laboratory. Not one of us can overlook the tremendous energy Father has put into the Our Lady of the Assumption Convent. Countless times he sacrificed his leisure hours to oversee or work upon some facet of its construction. His tireless attempts to make the new home of the Sisters a thing of beauty and simplicity have certainly been rewarded. But, as always, Father's main interests were centered around the student body. During the first week in Decem- ber he attended the Catholic Educational Association of Pennsylvania Convention in Pittsburgh to catch up on the latest in teaching techniques. The field of education is progressing rapidly, and Cen- tral is in line with the best of schools because of Fatheris expert direction. To ascertain our standard, Father wel- comed the members of the liiddle Atlantic States Evalua- tion Committee who spent April 7, 8, and 9 at Central. In his seven years as principal, Father has watched the enrollment soar to an all-time high, but he has managed to find time and place for everyone. Whole-heartedly' devoted to his vocation and ever zealous for Central's good reputation, he keeps a fatherly eye on the study habits, discipline, and spiritual progress of the entire student body.
