Ifs This Way, Ojfcer . . . Installation Day, October 10, opened the door for another year of planning and figuring. The student council, under the leadership of President Thomas Twardowski, took on the cus- tomary duties of directing corridor traffic and arranging skat- ing parties, doggie roasts, and dances. Sunday, November 24, was a red letter day for twenty-six members of Central's student association. The group repre- sented Central at a gathering of 16,000 youths who attended the Pontifical Mass, which marked the climax of the sixth National Conference of Catholic Youth Week. The celebra- tion took place in Convention Hall in Philadelphia, and all received Holy Communion. This year Central has been duly accredited with a certifi- cate of membership to the National Association of Student Councils of the National Association of Secondary-School Principals. The association will send the school a copy of the 1958 Student Council Yearbook, a copy of their newest publication N. A. S. C. Highlightsf four times yearly, and two copies per month of Student Life, a thirty-two page illustrated magazine containing numerous articles of interest in all phases of school activities.
