the reason for school is peoplel schools are centers where people are given oppor- tunities to work, learn, and think independently as they drive toward self-development. all of us are learning things everyday. we learn how to adjust, to relate, to communicate, to get along . . . , in effect, to live. a yearbook theme of people is most appropriate this term. as these pages are viewed, there will he many reflections on the 1968-69 school year with its one-way corridors and wall-to-wall students getting to and from class. we have all learned a lesson in life, that lesson is making the best of an extraordinary sit- uation. hopefully, our understanding of people has been greatly enhanced and we are more intelligent as a result. it is my sincere wish that each senior graduating from central bucks has much success in the future, best wishes as you continue on life's journey. dr. david h. spahr, principal 4 1 l l education is concerned with each individual and also with groups of persons which compose our society. in a free nation we believe that the education is essential to human dignity, freedom, self-realization, discharge of civil respon- sibilities, ability to make a living and solve problems. edu- cation is basic to an individuals success and satisfaction in the world in which he lives. why, one may ask, place the emphasis on the individual with respect to education? the answer, as i see it, is so that the individual may contribute as much as he is able to the welfare of others. in america, as in no other culture, the in- dividual has contributed to our political life at all levels, to building our economic edifice, to the observance of law and order, to research of many kinds, to the welfare of peo- ple both at home and abroad, to formulating and following the value patterns which characterize america and lead to the fulfillment of national purposes. we in america believe that through the fullest develop- ment of individual potential a strong, self-reliant, and cap- able nation can result. we in america believe that our grad- uates of 1969 will fulfill this nation's destiny. dr. ronald huber, superintendent
