Regional, educational, and experiential differences combine to make the staff a diversified, Well-rounded body. Members of the faculty sponsor clubs, sports, and after-school activities lor the benefit of the students. The administration and the student government work in close cooperation to promote a deeper understanding between the two. Deserving special recognition this year is Mr. Arthur T. Reese, our vice- principal. At the end of this school year, he is retiring after thirty-eight years of service in the Central Bucks school system, Thank you for your devoted service, Mr. Reese. Much happiness in your years of retirement. Consider that I labored not for myself only, but for all them that seek learning. This quote from Ec- clesiasticus XXX might well have served as the slogan of the teachers of Central Bucks High School as they labored to provide the best in modern education for you, the Class of 1967. Each situation, each activity, each class function was more than just a job to be per- formed. It was an opportunity to be seized to provide a new and better setting for learning. It is our hope as you depart from us that we have imbued you with the same enthusiasm for learning, so that for the rest of your days you will find each challenge, each new job, each new demand for your services as yet another setting for learning. 1 -f6'7'L 0411? Guidance counselors at Central Bucks help high school students plan their schedules, higher education, and careers as well as find solutions to individual troubles. Because people are different, they naturally have different problems and goals. Thus, various types of assistance must be offered. The counselor's function is to help the students achieve these goals, resolve these problems, and prepoae for adjustment to life both inside and outside of high school. Iqnet C, Goodmqn Anthony W. Student As- sistants aid the librarians in such routine duties as charging materials at the circulation desk, mending and shelving books and magazines, and processing new books. The as- sistance of these library aides allows the librarians time for their more important work of teaching library fundamentals to all Sophomore English classes, offering further library instruction within specialized areas, and aiding students in their individual research. Seal head west for Oklahoma Harlequin Club The phrase, break your leg, heard so often before Harlequin Club performances, has been a good omen for the club's actors and stage crew. ln the fall, Harlequin members partici- pated in the Senior Class Play production of Death Takes a Holiday and followed this in the Spring with the musical Oklahoma which was produced entirely by the Harlequin Club under the co-direction of Mr. David Harris and Mr. Phillip Aldrich. Between these two major dramatizations members worked hard at various one-act plays. Under the direction of Mr. Phillip Aldrich, several members of the club performed Minnie Field in competition on the district level at C.B. and upon placing second, went on to per- form at the regional level. Then they qualified for state finals which took place at Penn State University. Other one-act plays produced were Pullman Car Hiawatha, Aria da Capo and several plays for children which were performed at local elementary schools. February was the month of the Pan Plays. These one-act plays were directed and produced entirely by stu- dents and then were performed in competition. The play The Tale of Chelm under the di- rection of Shari Pickett was judged as the winner. Shari's name was then engraved on the frying pan, across from the name of the play. Under the guidance of Mrs. Elizabeth Porter, Mr. Harry Williams, and Mrs. Lorraine Bardsley, the Seniors have attained success in each function pursued, ranging from Sophomore night to the commencement and graduation exercises. A utopia was found during the most memorable part of the final year, Senior Week. Aided by Mr. Ralph Hunsberger, Senior Class advisor, each tradition was iully carried out: the Senior Class Play, Death Takes a Ho1iday, the wearing oi black, lunch served by underclassmen, the pep rally, a parade, the Thanksgiving Day game, and the climax being the dance entitled Autumn and Eve. E After three years of class unity, the Seniors look to the future with their desires and will now seek new settings of learning. O Senior Leaders Leaders play an essential part in any group function. Senior class officers, with the guidance of Mrs. Lorraine W. Bardsley and their classmates, led the Class of '67 in numerous class activi- ties. To complement their program, the Student Council officers, working through homeroom presidents, pro- vided able leadership in student government. Mrs. Lorraine W. Bardsley, Senior Class co-ordinator Class Officers: Bob Mullock, President: Cathy Myers, Corresponding Secretary: Chip Durell, Vice President, Barb Foote, Recording Secretary: and Steve Lueckel, Treasurer. Critically appraising a rehearsal are Iim Nunemaker, Antler photographer, Mr. Harris, Director, Leda Silverman, Student Director, and Larry Williams, Electrician. Abandoning his natural form, Death assumed the role oi a mortal on the stage of Central Bucks on November 18th and 19th, 1966. The play, Death Takes a Holiday, under the direc- tion of David R, Harris, portrays Death experi- encing iull human emotions and eventually finding an everlasting love. The cast and stage crew, working long and arduous hours, practicing and planning, were typical sights in the auditorium for several weeks last fall. As the production neared pub- lic performance, the players increased the an- ticipation among students and faculty by in- formally presenting moments of high interest in an assembly preview and daily over the public address system. The audience was not disappointed when the cast gave the vibrant and stimulating per- formance as the culmination oi all their efforts. Senior Class Play The dramatic confrontation of Death Ieif Siggers, with his host, Duke Lam- bert, played by Ellery Buchanan. Performing in the Senior Class Play were Linda Strohm, lack Sunderland, Shari Pickett, Steve Lueckel, Sarah Blau, Ieff Siggers, Cheryl Roley, Ellery Buchanan, Larry Bullock, Rick Whiffen, Mary Ann Gendall, Sjanna Iohnston, and Rick Chamberlain. Senior Week, starting with the presentation of the Senior Class Play, was continued on Monday with various activities planned just for Seniors. Monday was the day the elected students filled administrative offices. Tuesday followed with the memorable Senior assembly and the first Senior hayride. Senior Day, Wednesday, was filled with the Senior lunch, the pep rally, the parade and the climax, the bonfire. Thursday ended the Seniors' week after the annual football game and the dance that night. Do you remember when . . proved to be the theme of the Senior assembly. Get a little closer with that camera and you'll be sorry! P1- 1 Senior Day Sophomores show their school spirit by serving the Seniors at lunch time.
