Down through the ages the great wisdom of these revered teachers has been echoed again and again to tell us that if we would be great and good we must focus our attention on the things of life that are great and good. Although the compleat man has a broad spectrum of interests and possesses a variety of talents and skills, the source of his success can usually be found in the fact that he learned to concentrate his ambitions on a central point of importance in his life. Iust as you cannot take a clear photograph unless the object is in focus, neither can you achieve a full life in any venture unless you focus all of your best energy and attention on that which you would accomplish. When the path is in clear focus, the journey is well begun. Mr. lack L. Livingston Senior High School Principal Dr. B. Anton Hess Distnbt Superintendent ...X , .... ...M 5 .- . Q l F illa ' -V X, The theme of a yearbook should serve to strengthen the purpose for its publi- cation. When time has passed and high school days become a clouded reminis- cence, the pages of your yearbook may become the focal point for revived mem- ories of the happiness and value of your high school education. I strongly hope that this Antler will also focus the at- tention of every senior and every under- classman on the worth that his learning and activity experiences have made for the challenge of tomorrow. ,Q 5 ,. ,fa 'airing Mm -ramif- t-fel? -vQ.f..'F A if Y' .E it in .. , Dr. John F. Alumni exhibits and examples of student work were also displayed for the enjoyment of the student body. Outside sketching and drawing from stu- dent models and animals provided the Fine Arts students with inspiration and valuable experience. Introductions to lithography, construction of mobiles, collages, portrai- ture, figure sculpture, and fundamentals of drawing were but a few of the many facets of the Fine Arts curriculum. The expansion and improvement of the Applied Arts department, under the direction of Jeanne Stroup, was shown in the volume and versatility of the works produced. In the lobby showcase, a display is assembled by Randy Cureton, Barb Smith, and Karen Prugh before the sale of the yearbook. Business managers Bob Beard and Brian Mc Cullough count returns from Antler sales. But shouldn't we include this photo? Ann Evans, Sally Redpath, Mr. Martin, and Sue Walton consider this problem. Members of the Antler editorial and business staffs struggled through many hours of hard work to produce a yearbook of value to the entire student body. The business staff helped to finance the yearbook through the sale of tickets to the Senior Class play. The group, sponsored by Mrs. Hess, was also respon- sible for selling and distributing the books. Members of the editorial staff waded through piles of photographs, pored over write-ups, and argued about captions. Many long afternoons under the sponsorship of Mrs. Pinner and Mr. Martin were spent designing layouts, typing copy, and finally assembling the yearbook. Basketball With the first sign of spring in the air, the 1965 Central Bucks baseball team began practice. Led by captain Bob Spratt and coached by james Egloff and jack Blosky, the boys drilled for the season ahead. The result of this drilling paid off for John Tomlinson, Bob Spratt, Bill Renz, Glenn Ford, and Walt Miller who received Bux-Mont honors. Because of these outstanding team members, as well as the effort of the whole team, Central Bucks placed third in 1965, with many promising underclassmen to re- turn for the 1966 season. ELIZABETH PORTER JUNIOR COUNSELOR luniors 6? v-1 The Class of '67 returned to the now familiar atmosphere of Central Bucks and confronted the year's challenges and opportunities with a hesi- tancy, yet with an enthusiasm that was con- tagious. Their energy carried them through many decisions ranging from choosing the prom theme to selecting a college. The junior year was a year of transition. No longer being the newcomers, but looking forward to being Seniors, the juniors assumed more responsibilities in clubs, on committees, and in planning school functions. Much of the juniors' time was devoted to preparation for the future. Participating in testing programs and Career Night, hearing Peace Corps and military speakers, and meeting college ad- missions oflicers were important parts of this guidance. Surely these experiences will be valuable to them as leaders of the future. 6? 1:21 Class Officers: Steve Leukel, Treasurerg Cathy Meyers, Corresponding Secretaryg Cy Kinney, Presidentg Barb Foote, Recording Secretaryg Bruce Smith, Vice-President. The first quarter witnessed the Sophomores en- gaged in an enthusiastic election campaign, high- lighted by ingenious posters, culminating with the candidates' speeches and the actual voting in the home rooms. XVhether waltzing in gym, applying bandages in health class, performing in the talent show, participating in Sophomore Night, or dissecting Hsh in biology, the Sophomores added their enthusiasm to these activities, As well as con- tinuing such old traditions as shining the plaque, they added to the established practices of Senior Day by waiting on the Senior tables at noon. Queen Sally Shaw, flanked by her attendants: Kathy Miller, Martha Mowry, Kaye Moore, Beverly Patterson, Alice MacAniff, and Sally Redpath, was crowned at midnight by class president, Peter Nisbet. Beverly Patterson and Debbie Andrews were two of many who transformed the gym into Arthur's Camelot. Last spring's juniors worked fervently to make the prom, Camelot, a success. The novelty of the evening was the dragon in the courtyard. The Hre- breathing, green-scaled creature com- pleted the medieval legend of King Arthur with a nodding head and a noisy roar. In the safer atmosphere of the gym, knights and their ladies danced beneath the tent-like roof of the castle. The Thanksgiving Dance, which the Class of '66 presented, had as its theme, Memories of Sleepy Hollow. The cafeteria was transformed into an eerie scene complete with Huttering bats. A gloomy forest helped set the ghostly scene of Sleepy Hollow. Dance Memories A dreamy queen dances with the Knight of Camelot. Brian Bailey, Barb Imhof, and Ann , Truscott helped create the mood of Sleepy Hollow. Undemeath falling autumn leaves, the queen of the Thanksgiving Dance, Beverly Patterson, accepted a gift from the Senior Class, presented by class president, Peter Nisbet. . . . and we never saw Ichabod Crane or the Headless Horseman. Under the direction of Mr. David Harris, seniors selected after try-outs animated dynamically the characters of The Gazebo. Presented before record- making audiences, the play told the story of a television mystery story writer's entanglement with blackmailers. A comedy-mystery, the senior class play will be remembered for humorous scenes, such as the appearance of the contrasting underworld gangsters Dook fBob Beardj and Louie fRick Chaffeej. In charge of publicity, ticket sales, and refreshments was the Antler business staff. Their efforts were important in the large audiences attending the play on November 19 and 20. .........4 3 e Captured in a somber mood are members of The Gazebo cast: Ken Williams, Kathy Muller, Steve Moore, Dave Crouthamel, jim Backlund, Elaina Patch, Bill Calhoun, Dave Haldeman, and Lee Swann. 148 Backstage workers Peggy Cross, Ann Evans, Jack Sunderland, and Carol Watton gather around the props table. The Gazebo Hailed In Two-Night Stand cn- ya After each rehearsal came the inevitable session of criticism for improvement of the production. IOSEPH B.
