Homeroom periods were used to best advantag and often sponsored several concurrent programs fo varied interests. Among oufltstanding achievements during the yea were the play My Sister Eileen, the Skating Party a scrap drive, and the Wasliington Trip in April. 4 1 4. W... . mfg? K-2-it D ADVISDRS Every senior class is a busy class and this year's was no exception. Their first project to tackle was the management of the cafeteria. After accomplishing this task they hurried on to their Sadie Hawkins Dance which proved well worth their while. Christmas brought on parties and the thrill of winning first prize for class room decorations. The new year started out with small class activities culminating in a St. Patty's Dance and the mirthful class dinner and movie. Wfith spring in the air the Seniors looked towards commencement and a last evening together. On this happy note they face the future! rf, 5 W gf i... 3 i S Wk 'Bt ssl, 2 -,J-Q 4' Wx :.- - ay,-+.. ,, -pr . , it-if 2.19555 - .' This small group of artistically talented people got together every Tuesday under the supervision of Miss O'Donnell. They turned out numerous landscapes, Pennsylvania Dutch designs on trays, and fancy fig- urines which they enjoyed doing. Who knows, some day, we may read about one of these young artists in the newspapers-or see their paintings hanging beside the greatest of the great. One can dream, can't one? on The Amplification and Projection Squad, with Mr. Boyer as faculty advisor, has thirty-five members, who early in the school year elected Bob Beck as their chairman. The squad handles the scheduling and showing of approximately 350 movies and provides facilities for amplification during auditorium programs and at various social events. The members show movies for an average of twenty-live social and civic groups out- side of school. Awards presented are miniature microphone pins and sterling silver pendants. In order to qualify for these awards a boy must stay on the squad until he is a senior. CJIL PAI TI G CLUB Last row, left to right: C. Radner, N, Smith, P. Shaughnessy, M. Beck, D. VVin- ters, 1.. Every teacher and coach beginning his teaching career looks forward to the future, when his ideal in facilities and building may be realized. This day for the Central Bucks teaching staff will become a reality next fall. I feel proud of the accomplishments of our athletic teams in the past-and especially our Championship Basketball Team of 1952. May the spirit and success of this team fthe last to play on the Armory Hoorj be an inspiration to all the Central Bucks Athletic Teams of the future. This year's season of the Central Bucks team, end- ing with a record of 1 win, 2 ties, and 7 losses, was not the most successful one they have had. Considering the handicap under which they worked - having only 13 players, 11 of which made up the team, leaving only 2 substitutes-we all agree that they did a fine job and deserve a lot of credit. Although the team was outnumbered and over- powered in most games, they at all times displayed a magnificent spirit of determination and sportsmanship. The best game, no doubt, was the one played against Perkiomen High School, which, though heavy rains severely hindered both teams, ended in a 2-2 tie. Three of their outstanding players, Buddy Wash- ington, David Wilson, and Richard Stover, played on the All-star team. Left to right: A. VVashington, Co-Capt. gh. MacFarlane, Coach, F. Plagued throughout the season with injuries the squad was never really at full strength in any one game A much better team than their record shows b can e proven by the fact that the Hornets placed four men on the Al - - ' ' lBux Mont team. Ron Vineis placed on the fir t . s team, Luther Sergeant, second teamg and Don Young a d ' ' n jim Case, honorable mention. In both of their wins the Buckaneers looked i In. pressive, walloping Souderton 34-0 and conquering a ver t h ' ' y oug Springfield eleven 14-6. The ties with Neshaminy and Sell Perk were hard fou ht co t g n ests in which both teams came through in the final quar- ters to gain their stalernates. Captained by Don Young and Ronnie Vinei th s e team was a hard fighting outnt which never gave up until th ti ' ' ' e nal whistle. With a little help from Lad Y Luck , the season surely could have been more suc- cessful. A banquet given by the captains was a fitting end to the season. And as Captain Young put it in his opening address to those in attendance: Even if the season w asnt too good, we can end it with a full stomach. ir, K -' ' fig. 6. aa i ig 'igpglf .C X' . ' N. Led by jim Ace Rad- cliff the team was one of great teamwork and was always hottest when the chips were down. The league was divided into two halves this year. After a slow start the team gained confidence and continued to win six games in a row, including a playoff game with Upper Moreland to win the first half. Not to be denied after this great comeback, they went on and won eight straight to take the second half and the championship. Mr. Finn is to be commended for his fine coaching and the way in which he handled the boys. It was due to his excellent work that the team turned out to be such a line quintet. With the crack of' the bat and the cry of play ball , a great number of Central Bucks boys turned out for first practice of the season. A rebuilding job was in order for Coach Wodock as he had only five returning lettermen from last year. It was his plan this year to start building the team for the next few years by bolstering the squad with as many sophomores as he can accommodate. Facing a 17 game schedule which this year included non league games with George School, Hatboro, and Pottstown was a tough assignment for the Buckaneer nine. But with a little hard work and plenty of team play the squad had a better than average chance to finish in the higher brackets of the Bux-Mont League. 783 Last row, left to right: J. Lodholz, A.
