Faculty Emphasis Cn .The Word Central Bible offers many areas of education, but the emphasis has been placed on biblical education. The Division of Biblical Education, under the leadership of Dr. Thomas F. Harrison, is composed of two depart- ments: Bible and Theology. The strong emphasis on the word of God is facilitated through the study of the historical background of the Bible, content exegesis, biblical languages, and a bibli- cal theology which stresses the teaching of the Word. The philosophy of the faculty members who teach in this department is to teach the Word, rather than about the Word. Attention has been given to the sci- ence of interpreting the Bible-hermeneutics. This is a vital tool for the students to respond to the Working of the Word and Spirit of God so that he may be used to advance the kingdom 'of God. A primary objective of the Biblical Education is to prepare pastors, teachers, missionaries, administrators for the church family. The preseminary and pastoral f- 3- , img... .. ministries concentration help make it possible for the 2 student to pursue God's will. . i 9 it srsr r if e X E -if Ben Aker Forest Arnold Virginia Arnold Jo Ann Barros Sam Beckdahl ASSOC, Prgfl in Bible ASSOC' Prof. in Phys- Instr. in Phys. The smooth function of this institution runs because .of the leadership these men provide. The burden of so many lives rests upon the shoulders of these leaders. Yet, in God's variety of ministries, they have found a niche in God's harvest field. Each year they see new workers thrust into God's won- derful army. For them, this satisfaction provides the incentive to keep on laboring for His kingdom! The Board of Administration and Directors - God's gift to this growing institution. t. CALLED OF GOD . . . In a more general way, we are called of God. Those who have placed their faith in Jesus have been called into His marvelous light. But there are some of us who have a special calling in their lives. And these few are . . .called of God. Many students have come to Central Bible College to pursue their calling. And during these years, spiritual preparation takes place. lnevitably, part of this preparation is the study of the Word of God. Beyond this, the Holy Spirit takes each individual student to a place of spiritual maturity in Jesus. Paul says that 'we' have been called or collared by God. This places us in a position of responsibility. And because of that, the Bible department of CBC has an awesome task. Neverthe- less, the final responsibility rest on us-the students.
