Ca he Deaf School Department Sounds of music, laughter, praise, and utter- ance of tongues, the interpretation, aprophecy from God--these are sounds unknown to the deaf students and yet these are experiences deeply felt by them. Among the deaf, there are those who seek to learn, to understand, and to have the light of the gospel. This need was first dealt with by CBC in 1948 when deaf students were accepted into the regular program of the school. However, as more specialized training became essential, the Deaf School was incorporated as a depart- ment in 1962. Special classrooms, teachers, and curriculiun have-provided systematic training. Biblical, general, and applied education sub- jects are offered in order to provide a course of study designed to prepare the deaf for Christian service among the deaf.
