Prayer is offered for the leper of India and the heathen of darkest Africa as well as the modernist of North America. Asia, where Communism is on the rampage, and Europe, whose people are physically and spiritually starving, are not forgotten in the chain of prayer. Students also take upon their hearts the native of South America who is living in ignorance of the cross' deliverance from religious superstition. Others bring the deaf of the world to their Father as volumes of prayer rise heavenward all over the campus. The com- plete influence of these prayers is known only by God, but we know that He who has called us to prayer, will be faithful in heeding our hearts' cry. -144- ' '? Three times a week squads of students go to the mis- sion. Gospel singing and personal work has brought many habitual drunkards to Christ. . . . to personal work . . . to mission Trio ministers in song Mission Sauad leads a lost soul to Christ. Christ, while upon the earth, dealt personally with individuals who needed His peace within their hearts. Following His steps, we are led to contact souls personally for Him. Many students have assumed the task of witnessing on the streets, on the buses, or in any place where they meet those who need Christ. Hardened hearts melt as they recognize the love of God that causes students to be interested in their souls. Workers distribute tracts to soldiers from Ft. Wood. I 4 ' ' 1 5 Each week in churches, schools, and homes, the story of Jesus is told to children by stu- dents with a vision for the church of the future. The enthusiastic response of the boys and girls in the singing of action choruses and hymns brings ioy to any worker. As the Bible stories are told the Spirit opens the hearts of the chil- dren. Often a child has never before heard the story of Jesus, while others have been trained in the Word of God from infancy. Nevertheless, most children are desirous of learning more and more about Jesus. -1 70- A 5, sh 4 STOR HOUR WORKERS Tl R. Now, young people who are deaf also have the opportunity to study the Word of God. They at- tend classes regularly, iust as hearing students. Miss Lottie Riekehof interprets in sign language the words of the instructor. She also counsels the deaf students and assists them with their assign- ments.
