THE AROOSTOOKAN . ' ,FELLOW sfrueswrs Do we as students appreciate all the faeilitles we have t hand? Do we even recognize these advantages whlch surround us? Our books, sur edifice are purchased by our parents Our teachers are paid by the taxes which our elders pay and yet we state that our parents don't care whether we have an education or not. V-get lap: ,vi -- Of course, not only our own individual parents are responsi ble for this,those of our school mates are all included. To be able to attend school is not only a duty to ourselves and but the ple and the own our com unity of the future, a privilege. -We are offered chance to learn of other peo and other lands of the past of the future We are glven opportunity to prepare for mr future welfare Why not take advantage of the circumstances and be a shining example of not taking things for granted, Too often we treat secondary an unwanted dedication, We should realize that there are many in other lands who would be extreme ly happy for the opportunity to gain an education, Our ancestors were denied the prlvilege of in struction beyond the local kitch ens Often in school I am afraid we foretell the type of eitizmuwe will become in later llfe not too much later, by the way We who too often fail in assignments are apt to be the ones who fallnn business transact1ons when wehave no teachers to instruct us, ,gun 1n1,-,-,- -U' Don't we owe it to thebevf to build up a better community, of law abldlng, well educated men We are ever glven the place to learn and practlce these things, but do we apercclate lt?
