Showalter, Harold Routson, Jack Tidrow, Fred Harvey, Ronnie Kinder. KNEELING: Student Mana- ger--Larry Dillman. 1958-59 SEASON PROVIDES PLENTY OF ACTION The 1958-59 basketball squad finished the season with a record of 10 wins and 10 losses. Many of the team's games were close and provided plenty of excitement. Also the team, coached by Max Showalter, provided plenty of action. Although 4 out of the first 5--Fred Harvey, Clyde Pennington, Harold Routson, and Hike Schlotterbeck--will graduate this year, the pic- ture for the future is not altogether dark. One of the bright spots of the season was Daryl Renschler, a sophomore, who scored 23 points in one game, 22 in another, and in double figures several more times. He hit for a percentage of .439 from the floor. Also a freshman by the name of Tom Kinder played both B-Team and A-Team ball and looked good on both teams. CHS will see Tom play a lot of basketball in the next 3 years. Centerville lost their first game in the sectional tourney to Cambridge City, one of the powers in the County, by s score of 64-Sh. Cam- bridge led all the way, but Centerville was never out of the ballgame. Mike Schlotterbeck led the Centerville scoring for the game with 19 points. Earlier in the season Cambridge defeated Centerville in a thriller by a score of 69-66. Mike Schlotterbeck, besides getting honors able mention for the All-Sectional Team, ranked high in field goals, free throws, rebounds, and assists for the season. Harold Routson, top re- bounder for Centerville, made the all-tourney team of the Invitational Tourney held at Hagers- COWB-
