left to right: Mr. Roy Harris is completing his eighth yearas trustee of Center Town- ship. His position gives him the responsibility of the governing or the schools. Hr. Harris hires all the teachers, Janitorsand school bus drivers. These duties are additional to those involving such as property assessment, figuring of budgets, etc. Mr..Harr1s is a graduate of Centerville High gchcol, graduating in 1920. He has a son, Ronnie, who is a freshman in C. . S. Mr. Arthur H. Hines has been Wa ne County Superintendent of Schools since first taking that post in l92Z. Mr. Hines is a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College at Terre Haute, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He later received his Master of Arts degree from the Unl- verslty of Cincinnati. As county superintendent, Mr. Hines has as one of his duties, the general supervision of the educational program throughout each of the county schools. He also must approve all teachers that are hired and, with the help of the county board,determ1ne the policies for all county schools. Mr. R Mrs. Hines make their home in Centerville and have a son, Wayne, teaching in C. H. S. Mr. E. L. Outland became principal of the Centerville Schools in 1927. He has spent the past 22 years guiding the wavering footsteps of many a high school student back into the path, to see him advance to graduation. 'Lee' has joked at some time or other with every pupil ln C. H. S., he has had to become stern and many students have waited shakingly to hear his footsteps coming into the office to disposeof their particular mlsbehavlor. His has been the difficult task of seeing that students learned, that tea- chers taught, and that C. H. 3. graduated only students worthy of the name, a High School Graduate. Mr. Outland graduated from Earlham College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1919, and later received his Master of Arts from Chicago University. Mrs. Rose Hamilton earned both her Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees at Indiana University. Mrs. Hamilton is Mr. Outland's Assistant Principal. It is to her that the students have to go each morning to account for being late or for missing school the day before. Her friendly, sweet smile and her quiet helpful disposition will be remembered by every C. H. S. graduate since her arrival here as a teacher in 1922. Mrs. Hamilton also takes care of all the schcol's bookkeeping, keeping an accurate account of every or- ganizations financial status and of every student's pink slip deductions.
