Mr. Smith looks on as Terry Lux and Denny Stull write world history definitions on the blackboard, This history class gives insight into world civilizations throughout the ages. Movies, maps, and discussion groups add interest to Mt. Hoover's Problems of Democracy class. P.O.D. prepares senior students for citizen- ship by instruction in American govern ment. Dave Teyber raises his hand to answer a question as the students in Mr. Smith's sociology-geography class check their homework. These students study sociology during the first semester and geography during the second semester. Mr. Hoover has the help of Alan Brunsman in displaying guns of the revolutionary period. This American history class not only studies the history of our country but also takes time weekly to discuss current world situations.

Our Science Courses Are Rich and Complete This laboratorv is the center of scientific activities in the High School. The Science Department is one of the most active organizations in the high school. There have been many new developments, including the acquisition of numerous pieces of new equipment and the remodel- ing of the lab itself. In the different departments, Mr. Huffman headed an extracurricular dissection class composed of boys interested in anatomy. This was the first activity of it's kind in Center- ville's history. Another first at Centerville was the 7: 15 physics class with Mr. Laird instructing. Mr. Huffman taught lab procedure to his chemistry classes, and his general science students were intro- duced to the lab and the basic prin- ciples of science. Biology students study plant and animal life. The anatomy group. doing a dissecti General Science students learn about the lab Advanced Physics is a first for Centerville
