Dramatics 4 Pres. Pep Club 3 Prom Committee 3 Commercial Club 4 Cheerleader 1,2,4 Wm In September of 1946 twenty young musicians organized an orchestra for a four year contract under the directorship of Mr. E. J. Tuomi. A complete and pleasant career was thought of by all the enthusiastic musicians. Eighteen of the twenty members were old friends, but joan Gates and Harlan Feller joined the happy group. They came from Great Falls. Soon the orchestra became accustomed to the habits and ways of the ex- perienced. They put their hearts and souls into their work and this first year showed success was ahead. Rapidly, the first year of the contract expired and all looked forward to future years. Soon summer had gone and September rapidly advanced. Instruments were tuned and polished, ready for strenuous work. Again, the same twenty re-entered the doors of C. H. S. plus a new member. This was Don Marko, also formerly from Great Falls. One year's experience helped this merry class and they advanced quickly to a higher bracket. Still lower classmen, they had to work for all they received, endless toil was repaid by success. The second year proved still more successful than the first, and upper classmanship occupied all our thoughts. The third year was one of greater success than the two previous ones. But this year our group decreased to eighteen, three of our classmates left and went into different fields of occupation. Harlan Feller joined the Marine Corps, Delores Konesky trans- ferred to the Great Falls High School and Kenneth Kerkes left school to work. Now we were reaching the peak of our success, and soon we would be seniors. But during the year of 1948-1949 we achievedmuch in self-confidence, we knew what we wanted and we stuck to our ideas. Our last year of the contract was upon us and we yearned to keep our four year term a success. Now at the top of the class bracket we were proud of our achievement. This year once more our class decreased by two, now leaving sixteen stern and gallant followers. Shirley Super transferred to Central Catholic High School while Gary Latham went to Great Falls High School. This year a new director also took his post, it was Mr. A. J. Caldwell, a former teacher. This year our hearts weren't set only on keeping our contract, but we had to publish an annual. We always tried something different, so this year we had our annual published in Texas and it turned out to be one of the great- est books put out by C. H. S. Graduation is now here and all are happy but yet sad--sad because we have to leave our happy surroundings. We have fulfilled our four year con- tract to the best of our knowledge, and have attained a good high school education. We shall now leave but with great pride to say that we graduated from the Centerville High School. 20. We, the Senior Class of Centerville, in the year of our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Fifty, do hereby make this our last will and testament. ARTICLE I To the FACULTY, we leave our sincere appreciation for their many ef- forts in helping us constitute that important part of life-education. To the SCHOOL BOARD, CHARLES DERDA and EINO KORIN, we leave our token of thanks for their many unforgettable undertakings in helping us achieve our education. ARTICLE II To the other classes of the school, we leave our empty seats, our agree- able attitudes and our abilities in accomplishing our tasks. ARTICLE III Individually we bequeath the following: KENNETH BETTS after deep thought decides to leave nothing. ANNA MAY REHOR leaves, to Gloria Lindstrand, anything she can find that is worth while. ARTICLE IV This, the last and final statement, will make the teachers and under- classmen very happy.---------- Yes, we the Seniors leavellll IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this Fifteenth day of january, in the year of our Lord Nineteen Hundred and Fifty. WITNESSES: Beverly Ross, Gene Menghini - Anna May Rehor fSealD 77m A quarter of a century has passed since the graduation of my class, and off in the distance I hear music. Songs ring out from the hills, and I hear familiar voices. Voices I heard years before-in the year 1950. I recognize these voices, they are the voices of my classmates. Listen, and you will hear of their successes. The first voice I hear is soft and sweet, that of Patsy Erickson, she is a well known dress designer in New York. Her creativeness has attained her a high position in the designers world. Mike Mizenko is the coach of the Notre Dame football team. He is very successful in this field and his teams have always been outstanding. The music softens and I hear a soloist. A beautiful song is being sung. I remem- ber this voice. It is the voice of Noramay Heal, she is the leading soloist in a Holly- wood night club. Again the music increases in volume and tempo and I hear Eddie Lucotch. He is a banker in Chicago. Beatrice Mapston is happily married and she and her family are living on a large ranch in Texas. Gene Menghini is a very busy lawyer. His ability to argue his point has remained with him over these years. The music rings on and I distinguish Barbara Guza'a voice off in the distance. She is a nurse in a far off China city. Don Marko has become quite an elegant country gentleman. He lives in Virginia and ownes a large tobacco plantation. joan Gates has remained in Montana and she and her family are living on a little farm on the suburbs of Great Falls. Listen, and above the music you will hear one of the greatest orators of this age. It is Stanley Marko, he is expressing his point of view on a woman president. Beverly Ross has become a professional dancer. Her talent has brought her much success and happiness. Eddy Pepos has just completed his invention of a new type of a plane. It is his most outstanding invention. june Surmi has been traveling all over the world painting all the well known scenes. Her paintings have brought her great wealth. Darkness is rapidly descending, but the music continues. Yes, there are still two former classmates from whom I haven't heard. I shall listen a few minutes longer and learn of their successes. A voice speaks, it is that of Kenneth Betts. He is a florist in Californiag his cross-breeding of plants has made him famous. Douglas Erickson is an engineer and is planning the construction of a bridge across the Atlantic. I have now heard from all my classmates, so I can return to my country home and rejoice over their successfulness. -Anna May Rehor ,1 I x .-.--.4-W 2 The Iicginxmilmg, 'Mike and R ay M A ri 4 UF ALII an ,-Xrcn t me cutd ,'wq -- n. ef llv 11 If Um. .? Darlaine loves to dance and piano play, Hopes to be professional, someday. When questioned about music, Ralph remains mute, Thus reminding one of a battered old flute. Dixie, who's handy with needles and thimbles, May someday be handy with pretty brass cymbals. Sometimes Harvey gets under your skin, just like the squeak from jack Benny's violin. Good little Betty, who obeys the law, Is sweet and quivery, like a musical saw. Douglas, when asked to define Xylophone, if able, Said, It's something you pound on and looks like a table. Singing in opera is Greta's aim, Who knows, she may surpass MacDonald's fame. Teddy, the chap with the slick guitar, May someday become a cowboy star. Kenny, the kid with a freckled nose, Gets his music by attending shows. Cubies's attempting to equal Harry james, In playing the trumpet and catching dames. Marion is our country girl, Like a baton, always in a whirl. Ben's speaking voice is sweet and mellow, just like the music from a great big cello. Here's our musical Ruth Korin, She's really hep on the tambourine. Bob Lesh has experienced many a tangle, And gets along well on the triangle. Gloria, who always has music in mind, With spoons could probably keep very good time. Bobby's the kid, who can be very lax, just like a beginner on his brand new sax. Raymond Macek is very sharp, Resembling those high notes on his grandfather's harp. jerry, who seems to like the organ, Could easily become a second Dennis Morgan. Eddy M. is the Junior class goon, His general appearance is like a basoon.
