w:usH'r new 'ram ec Team 111945 v fi 0 W f X. if f .smfofe if i f 1Lff57-UIQY Twelve years ago a group of little boys and girls started to school here at Centerville. Of this number eleven have completed their school- ing here: John Buriff, Ray Gatts, Patricia Harnish, Florence Hibberd, Alma Lucas, Dale Lucas, Clifford Furdin, Lucille Reeder, Bill Schiewetz, Doris Stubbs, and Dudley Zimmerman. The other members joined us in the following grades: 3rd, Martha Collins, 4th, Everett Shafferg 5th, Mar- jorie Current and Paul Garberg 7th, John Whitaker and Clarann Harnishg 9th, G6PtPUQ6 Hackley and Joyce Browng lOth, Barbara Woodsg llth, Don Schell. We spent many happy days in the lower grades together. In the fifth grade we had a very active class. Our baseball team for this year is shown in this book with our baby pictures. An outstanding event in the seventh grade was a pie fight between the Wildasinn twins, in which we tried to restore brotherly love to the miscreants. In the eighth grade we had our first tea for our Mothers. We entered the Freshman year with all the usual Ugreenn earmarks. Our first attempt to make money as a class was in this year, when we had the Bingo at the Halloween Carnival. During the basketball season we had several classmates on the varsity team. As nmischieviousn Sophomores, we sold pencils to add to our treas- ury, besides having the Bingo again. We had little difficulty in choos- ing our class rings, which we received the following year. As busy Juniors, we presented the play, Swing Fever . During that year we sold pop and magazines to help us along financially. In the Spring we held our Jr. k Sr. Prom at the Wishing Well. The theme was V1ctory . In the fall of 1945 we entered our last year of high school as ndignifledu Seniors. On WSenior Dayn we had our pictures taken by Howard Knoll. We also visited the Dayton Daily News and WHIO. Our class was well represented on the basketball team this year. We were proud to have nine out of the ten boys on the team. On March 8, four of us Seniors went to Roosevelt High School to take the General Senior Scholarship Test. After the test, we were given the remainder of the day off. We gave nwhere There's A Willu as our class play on April 6, 1946, coached by Mr. Seal. The cast enjoyed the practice and was pleased with the results. The culminating date of our school life, our Commencement, is May 25. Doris Stubbs will serve as Valedictoriang Salutatorian will be Marjorie Current, and Historian, John Buriff.
