SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE I take this means to congratulate our 1967 Seniors on the completion of their academic courses. I wish each of you much success when you leave this institution. Too, our Board of Education, the teachers, your parents and all personnel who work for our school have contributed to your success. Our school, I believe, is on the verge of growth due to the impact of the great New Lead Belt on our economy. A school is known by its graduates. In summation: it is not how many games you have played, whether you won or lost, but how well you have played the game. This applies to the great game of life. Your fellow Co-Worker, Raymond Powers Superintendent Raymond Powers To our superintendent, our sponsor, our counselor, and a friend to all of us, and to a man who has devoted more than forty years of his life toward service in the educa- tional development of the youth of this nation, we, the Senior Class of 1967 of Centerville High School, do dedicate this 1967 BULLDOG in grateful appreciation. James Elmer Sheldon represented those values in life for which those of us left should aspire to achieve. It is for these qualities of mind and spirit that James Elmer Sheldon will remain in living memory among us in our journey onward through life. 15 SENIOR WILLS We, the members of the Senior Class of 1966-67, in the town of Centerville, and state of Mis- souri, being of sound mind and body, do hereby declare that the following is the last will and testament to be made concerning these matters: I, Erma Brawley, will Edward's and my tractor to Mr. Martin so he will have something to run around in, in his old age. I, Wanda Bright, will my ability to be quiet in Study Hall to Patty Hale. You need it. I, Clarice Chitwood, will my long brown hair and psychology book to Mr. Martin. Don't roll the hair to often, Mr. Martin. I, George Dement, will my ability to play basketball to the boys who play in the future. I, Deloris England, will my ability to receive a letter from a different boy every day to Rose- mary Mendenhall. Good luck Rose. I, James Fox, will my black hair with a rooster tail to Mr. Powers. Good luck Mr. Powers. I, Charlene Jackson, will the old black 49 Ford to Nancy and all of her future occupates. Good luck to all of them. You too, Nancy, you'll need it. I, Alfred Martin, will my ability to be late at school every day to Barb McNail. You don't have to try very hard. Don't ruin my record, Barb. I, Junior Mendenhall, will my ability to skip school every other day to Elmer Ruble. You won't have to try very hard. You have a good record already. I, Mary Anna Pogue, will my ability to get mad at the ballgames to Doris Jackson and my exact 20 pounds to Sue Pogue. Good luck to both of you. 16 SENIOR PROPHECY The year 1988 is here and ERMA JEAN BRAWLEY is still riding in her father-in- law's old pick-up truck. Edward doesn't have their new tractor paid for, so they can't purchase a car of their own right now. WANDA BRIGHT is now the world's best heavy-weight champion wrestler. She has won her last match with Deloris England. As I go flying along in my space ship, I see CLARICE CHITWOOD sitting in study hall reading a true story that was given to her. To the best of my knowledge we just couldn't get her to leave school. In the year 1988 we find GEORGE DEMENT driving a very modern barrel going all around the country selling cold hot dogs. DELORIS ENGLAND is now married to Pvt. Last Class Billy Barnes. They couldn't rank him any lower. They now live in Pole Cat Holler with their little brood of 20 children. I look into a mirror, and a haze forms over it and then slowly begins to clear and I see JAMES FOX demonstrating the finer points of the hula dance to one of his finer pupils, none other than Marie Blanchard. Well, here it is a year after graduation and Charlene Jackson is still on the volley- ball court. She's tall enough and wide enough, but still can't get the balls over the net. Is she married? Of course. Her Hubby, Donnie Bodenhamer, is home pumping up volleyballs. She has to keep in practice, you know. At the half she runs home and checks on the kids and Donnie. In this year 1980 we find ALFRED MARTIN playing solar basketball, for the Satel- lite Allstars. Alf is as good as he always was. He still fouls out in the first quarter. At half time he has to fly home and check on Nancy and their 30 kids. We find JUNIOR MENDENHALL on Mars with a blonde wife and one adopted child. His name is Darrell. He never grew over 4 ft. 11 inches tall, but they love him just the same. Junior is the present owner of Universal Loan Co. In the year of 2000 I met this fat and freckled-faced girl. I'll bet you can't guess who it was. Mary Anna Pogue. I didn't know she was married andyhad sixteen kids. It didn't take me long to find out. Well, Mary and all her kids are still playing volley- ball, just like nothing ever happened. Mary still hits it harder than a bullet. Her husband is a drunkard. 17 ClarieBelle These Chaps take life Easy Look at my fellow! OUCH! That smarts Do you wanna Dance ?
