SOPHOMORE ,CLASS HISTORY +00- Where have you been, asked a listless Freshie of a hustling Ssphomore. i Me? Whv l've been to a class meetin . Sav, it surely was some meetin tool lf 1 7 J 1 7 vour class is as well re resented this vear as ours is vou can discard vour reen. . . w . . Who represents your class, anyway? inquired the Freshie, beginning to pep up. Bob Valentine is President, Grace Easton, Vice-President, Paul johnson, Secretary and Treasurer. Miss Upton and Mr. Fuller have been class teachers since last year. lsn't that a bunch to be proud of? Well, I guess sol And the elated Sophomore walked off leaving a little Freshman looking after him, half disgustingly, half dazedly. That is the way all the Sophcmores feel about their two years in the High School. They have always been proud of their representatives and the things they have done. Begin- ning with the First class election at which Paul johnson, Mary Moore, and Elmer Gill were chosen to lead the class and Hallien Hickman and Reggie to serve in the Booster Club, they have shown qualities of knowing the right fellow for the right job. After class organiza- tion, the next big event was the Mixer. This time the Sophomores weren't scared to breathe, as they were the year before. lnstead they helped initiate the new ones with no thought of their past ordeal. Along in October the main topic of conversation in the chattering Sophomore groups was the splendid Hallowe,en party they were going to have. Believe me, not a single per- son was disappointed, either, for they had everything from fortune telling booths to airplane rides. Their only thought has not been merely fun. Many of the names on the honor roll have been Sophomores. Others have been high lights in outside activities. Genevieve Fuller, Mildred Drummond, and Hallien Hickman were in the Home Declamatory con- test. The latter two represented C. H. S. in the Pre-District Contest, while Hallien won a place in the Sub-District. Glee Club claimed quite a few, the Sophoinores were especially proud of Doris Olds, who had a leading part in the operetta. In athletics the Sophomores have furnished some competition. Several were out for Football, while Reggie See and james Bruckshaw were strong in Basketball. Reggie played the whole final game in the tournament. C. H. S. has had the services of two capable Sophomores in managing its affairs. Mar- garet McConville and Charles Deatherage represented them in the Student Council. Yes, they are very proud of their record this year, for they have tried to do their best and boost dear old C. H. S. in every way possible. -H. H. 05 warg
