SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Back 111 1921 a group of boys and girls graduated from Grammar S hocl and entered the Freshman class at Centerville High School They were all bright pupils and the upper classes found it hard to put anvthmg oier on them As was the custom of all the classes, they had to have class oHi ers and teachers after becoming accustomed to High School life they held a meeting and elected LoN7o RES LFR, Prcxzzient MARY FATOCK Secretafv Twafufer ToM F1-E Vzca Pfcndmt, and GEORCE TURNLR Trmrwer Thev chose COACH THOME and Miss HAH for class teach ers, and sent LONYO Rnssr ER Htcr-1 WINTILR, and ALBRFY DAv1s to the Bo ster Club During the first vear they did well in evervthmg they attempted and finished the term m good standing They were a slightly different bunch when they came back in September Thev could hardly see the Freshmen and most of them knew more than the teachers at least they through the same stage and all the future classes will do the same thing This year they elected WARREN Smrru WANETTA LISETOR and CLARA SHA! 1cRoss for class oilicers and retained Miss HAIL and MR THOME a class teachers WARREN SMITH FANNIE AIFXANDFR and Hu rr WINTPRS represented them in the Booster Club Again they had a succes ful wear doing their part in all the school actnities and send mg members to the athletic teams and other High School Organizations. Their third or 5 unior year was remarkable. 'Iheir olhcers were: FANNIE ALEXANDER, ALBERT BURCESS and HENRY Goss. MR. THOME because of lack of time resigned as class teacher and they elected Miss AsnL'RY to take his place. They kept the Coach as an honorary teacher however. Their outstanding achievement was Clarence their class play. Another was the banquet, given to the class of 1924. They also had many members on the football and basketball teams. When thev came back to school in September 1924 they carried themselves with a dignity befitting only Seniors. They entered their work with a snap electing HLGH WINTER CLARA QHALLCROSS and HENRY Go s as ofhcers. The Seniors dominated in eierything they entered. The football eleven had nine Seniors and the basketball team wa: made up of Sgniors except one. There were tvmo Seniors on the Declamatory team and th- Debate Squad was n-arly all S niors. Now it is almost time for the last rites ef the Seniors. 'Ihcy have only three months to put en a class play attend a unior banquet and take part in Commencem nt exercisex Then they will be out in the World fighting for success. However we have every reason to expect success from this class, for their whole High School career has been an example of this fight for success. . -YV. P. I N . ' , 'a ' , C . r . 'I .
