J 1 N ' , ' ' 'Q '.E'5 1 .- i -- A Q r 2. , O ' , li . ,f K in -A ..- ' K fjflfelf - H Q I ,hr 'i Dear Students, Through athletics a boy can experience more about life and its rewards and consequences than any other single activity. He learns what it takes to succeed and that in order to suc- ceed he must work harder, overcome adversity, and constantly strive to become better at what he is doing. Ultimately, he experiences the satisfaction of having worked for something and succeeded. It is my hope that the young men who play football, basket- ball, and track at Center South develop this intense desire to succeed and Be The Best. Sincerely, gf Coach Bradshaw Dear Students, f'-2 . . Dear Students, One of the lessons leamed in sports is the fact that we suc- ceed mamly through superior performance. Elements of luck sometimes enter the picture, but in main it is perfonnance. Per- formance can only be improved through drills or fundamentals commonly known as practice. An athlete may have great phy- sical and mental potential, but very poor skills through lack of proper and sufficient practice. You cannot be rewarded in ath- letics because you have great potential, but only if these poten- tlals can be used to produce superior performances. As a student at Center South, can you see how these prin- ciples apply to your classroom work? You should be able to. Sincerely, Coach Speise , Discipline is one of the most important? qualities a person may acquire from parti- cipation in athletics. Without discipline many important things that a person attempts .--.--,...,.. ..f. .....,-,.,..----- may never be achieved. Athletics demand discipline in the way one acts, talks, appears, and works. Dis- cipline is to be respected as a goal worth attaining by most people in the United States. Evidence of this is the tremendous support given to all sports across our country. Millions of sports fans do not have the ability or the discipline required to partici- pate in athletics. However, the fans respect those who have the ability and the discipline required for the rigors of athleticfcompetition. Many of the boys who pass the athletic program at Center South will acquire the discipline to become very successful in later years. Without discipline that is leamed by sacrifice, dedication and hard work, chances are that he will not be as successful as his aspirations. Don't cheat yourself. Always work to be a winner. It will improve your chances at being whatever you desire in life. Sincerely, Y! vfvuulf- ff Zfydld Coach Frazier 9
