The FNA was organized in October 1969, to facilitate interest in nursing ca- reers and careers in allied fields. Their first project was sending pack- ages of food, books, games, etc., to our servicemen in Viet Nam in November for Christmas. In February and March, the FNA toured each of the following hospitals: St. Luke's, Mercy and Allen Memorial. A profitable bake sale in town pro- vided money to buy picnic fare for their end-of-the-year picnic at Backbone Park.
