NVe have seen our class members excel in athletics, music. and scholastic competition. It has been a rough, but pleasing read. Even though we were awed by the speed of high school life as we entered the avenue in our freshman year, we got in gear and rolled. Then came the intersec- tion with the sophomore road, which led us safely through that difhcult year. Our wheels went faster asjuniors, when we made ourselves known by pre- senting a wonderful prom. The challenging, colorful rf ride on the largest wheel as seniors has brought much satisfaction and joy, Our senior year has provided us with the oppor- tunity to co-ordinate our school program and to enjoy the advantages of the senior spirit, But along with these advantages, the responsibilities of school leadership have been laid upon us, However, it has been our pleasure to do our best to set a good ex- ample for the future seniors of our school. Even so, our Center High School life must end and we are hoping for an even more prosperous and successful future as we ride the wheels of destiny around the world. 1 .7 2 THE JU IOR CLASS 1 ,Q 0-'Y GI ORI A MASON Secretarv JOHN FUI TON Vice President ANN RANDAZZO Treasurer -5 -f. The Science Club is a co-curricular organization which has the full benefits of the laboratory facilities to carry out experiments of the members own choos- ing. The main purpose of this organization, under the supervision of Mr. Owen, is to furnish the stu- dents who have interests in science above and be- yond the classroom level a chance to develop their interests. Some of the interesting and exciting experiments of the eleven members areg work with hormones on rates, oil viscosity by acceleration method, effect of antibiotics on bacterial growth, fractional distillation of crude oil, preparation of tetrapod skeleton mounts, pH. meter construction and electronic relay. It is felt by all the members of the club that the knowledge they have gained has expanded their yearn- ing for science. I Science . The club is strictly an honor society which demands that each member main- tain an M average or be dismissed from the club. It is a Federated Club directly responsible to the Missouri Teachers Association and in turn to the National Teachers Association. Each member is assigned to a regular staff member for whom that member acts as an assistant, as record keeper, file clerk, recorder, and checker of objective tests. The club has a steady project of taking care of the Lost and Found Department, which serves the students before and after school and between classes. The major project, in excess of the assistant to a faculty member and the Lost and Found Department has been that of a week long observance of National Education Week. During this week, the club supplied posters for the hall, and pin-on slates for faculty and club members. Snacks were supplied for the staff members and an assembly was presented commemorating Education Week. The overall aim of the club is to train prospective teachers in the various facets of teaching both ele- mentary and secondary. The pledge which follows will present a clear picture of the aims and goals of this most popular club. THE FUTURE TEACHERS PLEDGE THE GOOD TEACHER REQUIRES: Physifnl vilaliyw.
