They were: Patricia Baker, Judy Ardrey, Darrell Lennox, Jean Ann Moss, Shirley LaRue, Judy Saisman, Elizabeth Tapley, Billy Farran, Coleda Talley, Gary Koch, Floyd Leake, Wayne Kurz, Margaret Miller, Eilene LaRue, LaRita Howald, Gene Tapley, Donna Schaffer, Mary Lu Clark, Betty Clark and Lucille Glendinning. We selected Mr. Henry McClintock as our sponsor. During the school year Margaret Miller, Gary Koch, and Coleda Talley left. In their place we gained one new member, Betty Jo Cunningham. At the beginning of the sophomore year we gained another member, Kirby Leake, who came from Perry. It was toward the end of the year when Wayne Kurz left. Mrs. Sylvan Krone was selected as our sponsor. All of us returned to begin the third year of work, but we lost two members during the year, Mary Lu Clark and Patricia Baker, Nellie Sue Jennings came from Monroe City as a new member of our class. We presented a three-act comedy play Take Your Medicine under the direction of our sponsor, Mrs. Sylvan Krone. A banquet was given in honor of the seniors at the Maryland Hotel in Hannibal followed by a theater party. When our senior year rolled around we were all looking forward to a last year together. We lost two more members, Lucille Glendinning, and Jean Ann Moss. There are fourteen of us reaching for that coveted diploma on May 12, 1955. These veterans of the battle of edu- cation have signed their request for Honorable Dismissal as follows: 1uJittu Up I 9 1955 Senior Class Prophecy Since graduating from high school, I have been working in Hollywood as a secretary to Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. My job has brought me back to Center in this year of 1965 as Eddie is going to appear on the TV station which has been set up in Center since I have been gone. When Eddie asked me to come along I was delighted as I wanted to see what had become of my classmates of 1955 ten years later. Upon arriving in Center, we went directly to the TV station where I had a chat with Elizabeth Tapley, who is the announcer for the news and weather at the TV station. Elizabeth told me where I could find some of the others and the next day I started on my search. Judy Salsman has a novelty shop of cartoon cards and trinkets and seems quite suc- cessful. Billy Wayne Farran has a jalopy race track of his own and is leading a very reckless life. I didn't get to see LaRita as she was on tour with the circus she has joined. LaRita is a special feature in this circus as the fat woman. Kirby Leake is a Chevrolet dealer in Center and has a thriving business. Almost everyone who comes in trades cars with him unless they have a Ford and Kirby refuses to take Fords as a trade-in as he says The Chevy's my car! Rumor has it that uranium has been discovered in Johnson Hollow and no one has seen Gene Tapley for a whole month. Betty Jo Cunningham is'chief cook at Center High School but she is planning to quit her job as she is getting married to David Harvey next month. Betty Clark is now coach- ing the Center basketball teams. They haven't won a game since Mr. Krone coached in 1955. Darrell Lennox is employed by the Center Street Car Association. Nellie Jennings delivers groceries on her bike for Grahams Super Market. Donna Schaffer is now a nursemaid for the three lovely boys of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Krone. They have retired from teaching. Eilene LaRue is teaching music at Center High School and has everyone in a singing mood. I hear Judy Staples is living in a little suburb of Center called Perry. She is very happily married. It was so good to see all my old classmates that I decided to stay around for six months and Lois Allison has offered me a job as a model in her exclusive dress shop for a short time. If you are wondering why our boys aren't married, they said they didn't want to be henpecked like Mr. Bumgarner so they are still running. As for the girls, no one will accept their proposals and they are just waiting for the next leap year to roll around. They are getting old fast. By Shirley LaRue 1955 Senior Class Will We, the following seniors of 1955, being of sound mind do hereby declare this to be our last will and testament: I, Eilene LaRue, will my ability to go steady to Carla Cunningham and my love for Fords to Shirley Cragen. I, Betty Clark, will my love for American Problems class to Glenn Ruby and my cheerleader's uniform to anyone who wants it. NOW MR. B. I THINK CRAZY MIXED UP KIDS ! ! ! Nellie Jennings: Dad, it says here that a certain man was a financial genius, what does that mean? Mr. Jennings: That he could earn money faster than his family could spend it. Judy Staples: I'll meet you halfway, Bunkey, I'll admit I'm wrong if you'll admit I'm right. Judy Salsman says there are two kinds of men who never amount to much; those who cannot do what they are told, and those who can do nothing else. Some girls are afraid of mice, others have ugly legs. That's easy, take a bath in sand and a rubdown in alcohol. The fleas get drunk and kill each other throwing the sand. David: Hey, that wasn't the tooth I wanted pulled!
