The Councils,Voice o f the Students The Student Council was organized September 14, 1952. The Council consisted of eight members, one representative and the President of each class. The elected officers were: Riley Morawitz, President; William Fanning, Vice-President; Virginia Wilson, Secretary-Treasurer; Patricia Baker, Re- porter; Clellen Brooks, Teddy Summers, Billy Dickensheets and Jean Ann Moss, were members, our Sponsor, Mr. Wilson. The Student Council sponsored a school carnival November 15 and 16. There were two candidates elected from each class for king and queen. These were: Billy Wayne Farran, Eilene LaRue, Don Ranenscraft, Virginia Wilson, Billy Bob Cottrell, Charlene Brooks, Eugene Cole, and Sue Brothers. Tickets were sold which admitted each holder to the different booths, the food stand, the amateur contest, and the Senior play. The money received for the tickets was also used for votes for the king and queen candidates. The final votes tallied, elected Billy Bob Cottrell, as King and Charlene Brooks as queen. The money received helped to pay for the new basketball suits. The other activity sponsored by the Student Council was the all school party which was held the last week of school.
