Newly organized due to the addition of French to the curriculum, the French Club attracted 60 members who enioyed activities that helped them gain broader knowledge of France, its language, and customs. With the addition of French to the curriculum Center Grove gain.ed another language club. This club, which attracted 60 members, joined the firmly esta- blished Latin and Spanish Clubs. French Club held its initiation in early March. Each member was required to participate in a five- minute skit with tive other members. Members of the Spanish Club were initiated at a banquet at which Mexican food was served. An old X alle' lg , , -. - . . , . I f ' : it q ft TRADITION . . . Greg Talley and Bill Vandermeer carry out the tradition of breaking the pinata at the Spanish Club initiation. 42 ,,4 i , it it ,Y , R .... ,Y ,,,4,-,,,., , Spanish tradition, breaking the pinata, was also a highlight. A main- project of the Latin Club was its Roman Banquet. Ideas for the banquet were solicited from neighboring schools. The Spanish and French Clubs were under the direction of Mrs. Vandermeerg Mr. Lydick sponsored the Latin Club. CONFERENCE . . . DRAMATICS CLUB . . . Special convocations and the Troian Review were main activities of Dramatics Club, which was directed by Mrs. Callahan. Zmmagdlud Aww Emu 60 The Dramatics Club promoted its activities by send- ing five Center Grove students to summer workshops at Indiana University. These students-David Baugh, John Shanks, Pam Bunch, Larry Fahy, and Becky Gaddy -helped fellow members during the year with acting, lighting, stagecraft, and costuming. Initiation of new members began activities of the Dramatics Club. Winter months brought the annual , . V I 44 Christmas pageant and special Lincoln and Washington Day dramatic presentations. In the spring came several one-act plays and the club's main event of the year, the Trojan Review. Dramatics Club officers are Larry Fahy, president, Pam Bunch, treasurer, and Julene Kincaid, secretary. Mrs. Callahan is faculty adviser. PLEASE, SANTA . . . Susan Dunn approaches Steve Jester as Santa Claus in the Christmas pageant. Julene Kincaid shyly waits her turn.
