ivaatlapaze ua . FM 7upa Under the direction of Mr. Kephart, the Future Farmers of America particiated in the county land judging contest. Other judging activities were in the areas of livestock, poultry, grain, and dairy. Most members also exhibited State Fair proiects. Main events of the year included field trips to the Hygrade Meat Packing Plant and Golden Guern- sey Farms. Members also attended the FFA state convention at Purdue University and the district convention at Eminence. Officers leading the cIub's activities were John Harrell, president, Larry Vandenberg, vice-president, David Loilin, secretary, Jim Featherston, treasurer, Jim Bensheimer, reporter, and Fred Kunz, sentinel. GIRLS' ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION . . . Over TOO girls, under the direction of Mrs. Davis, participated in sports during the T962-63 school year. em' Am fiuoakztwa Sym comm sw High school girls participated in sports throughout the year with a variety of Girls' Athletic Association activities. Bowling, basketball, and volleyball were the major interests. The basketball team participated in interscholastic games. Among these were games against Beech Grove, Greenwood, and Franklin Community School. The girls also formed teams by classes for participation in a single-elimination intramural tournament. Several changes made in the rules for girls' basketball this year proved to make the game more challenging. Money for awards given to outstanding participants ot the club was raised by sponsoring a sock hop early in the season. l GAA officers were Susan Dunn, president, Jayne Carter, vice-president, Jeanie Blaich, secretary-treasurer, Kathee Williams, point captainp and Barbara Weber, assistant point captain. Mrs. Davis sponsored GAA. s THE PAUSE THAT REFRESHES . . .
