swim sims mm, irwfm ew., cm M om Sunshine Society brought cheer and service to many people during the past year. For Thanksgiving baskets were prepared for shut-ins in the community. Many of the girls donated Christmas gifts for the Muscatatuck State School. These gifts were delivered by Sunshine officers. Early in the year the initiation of 60 new members took place in Bargersville Christian Church. The District Sunshine Convention was held atCenter Grove on October 6. Approximately 500 girls attended the program. Profits from the annual candy sale were donated to the Riley Fund. Also the girls took turns working in the coat check at each home basketball game, which added to the treasury. Officers were Glenda Kelley, president, Linda Van Dyke, vice-president, Janet Fulmer, treasurer, Suzy Ward, recording secretary, Carol Sutton, corresponding secretary, Kathy Williams, song leader, and Mrs. Fulmer and Mrs. Robertson, co-sponsors. BUSINESS IS BOOMING . . . Janet Fulmer, treasurer, Mrs. Fulmer, sponsor, and Glenda Kelley, president, discuss the success of the Sunshine candy sale. SUNSHINE SOCIETY . . . A variety of fund-raising projects allowed SSS members to aid the needy and donate to organizations such as the Riley Fund. 31

Out- standing among the year's programs was participation in the Christmas Concert and Spring Choral Festival. During the Christmas season the chorus caroled for the student body and throughout the community. A quintet composed of Deanavon Lentz, Janice Jenkins, JESU BAMBlNO . . . Deanavon Lentz, senior, sings a solo at the Christmas Concert which was presented by the band and chorus. 30 Nickee Williams, David Baugh, and John Shanks also performed for clubs and civic organizations. Chorus officers are John Shanks, president, Pam Bunch, librarian, and Nickee Williams, treasurer. Larry Fahy, Randy Stewart, Richard Williams, Stan Puckett, and Larry Vandenberg turn in profits from o sock hop sponsored by Hi-Y. 32 Hi-Y and Lettermen's Clubs, service organizations in which boys participate, worked together on proiects throughout the year. A maior contribution was the purchase of o new proiector for the athletic department. Members of Lettermen's Club are boys who have earned a varsity letter. This year the club wrote a constitution and by-lows. One of their main proiects was selling auto booster plates. Hi-Y Club was reorganized this year under the guidance of Mr. Long. Members are expected to live up to the four ideals of the club-clean sports, clean scholarship, clean speech, and clean living. HI-Y CLUB . . .
