l EARLY BIRDS . . . Girls attending Sunshine Society's District lll Convention wait to register for the activity-filled day. For the second time in 15 years 'Center Grove was host to 600 guests at the annual district Sunshine Convention. The convention' program included a welcoming speech by Glenda Kelley, S.S.S. president, group singing, and a book review on Pat Boone's Twixt Twelve and Twenty by Mrs. Robert Batton of Kentland. Noon time invocation was given by Judy West, senior, and lunch was served in shifts in the new cafeteria. A sock hop was held in the all-purpose room for those who were waiting their turn to eat. After lunch the William H. Block Co. presented a fashion show with Sally Rhoads, Block's fashion co- ordinator, in charge. Four major awards were given to outstanding players. .lim Featherston received the outstanding line- man award, Randy Stewart was awarded the outstand- ing back trophy, the new Defensive Demon award went to Champ.
