ABSENT: Marcia Brazee, Vice-President. The Sunshine Society consists of 104 members. The officers are: Marcia Whitaker, Pres- identg Marcia Brazee, Vice-Presidentg Sandy Day, Treasurer: Lynette Bock, Corresponding Secretary: Carol Vawter, Recording Secretaryg Nancy Gray, Song Leader: and Kay Smithey, Re- porter. Our sponsors are Mrs. Vera Fulmer and Mrs. Claire Gaddy. The symbol of Sunshine is the rising sun, the motto is Others, our colors are yellow and white, the flower is a yellow rose, and our song is My Sunshine Girl. Meetings are held every other Wednesday. This year Sunshine has been very busy from the first day of school to the last. The first thing we lmdertook was the makingof Thanksgiving Fruit Baskets to be given to the shut-ins of the community. At Christmas time gifts of clothing weregiven to several needy children. Also, we donated S100 to the Riley Hospital Fimd. A Christmas dance was held in the library on December 21. The Holly King and Queen, Don Blackwell and Phyllis Clearwater, both seniors, reigned over the dance. Several girls attended the District Convention at Fortville, Indiana, in October. They were: Marcia Whitaker, Margie Ross, Ruth Ann Featherston, Nancy Hill, Janet Weddle, Jenile Weddle, Sue Doty, Beverly Boltz, and Barbara Ogle. The State Convention was held at Rensselaer, Indiana, in April.
