Our na- tion has finally accepted the legal responsibility and the need for conscience to face up to the fact that equality of opportunity does not encompass our entire population. Federal legislation has been a factor in opening up new hori- zons, but the conscience of the American citizen is even more important to the ultimate achievement of these goals. Our theme denotes that new hori- zons are opening and must con- tinue to open for every Ameri- can, so that the full potential of our nation ' s strength may be realized in order for us to take our place historically as a coun- try worthy of immortality for its positive stand on all fronts necessary for the advancement of the human race. As the class of 1966 leaves us, it must accept the responsi- bility for continuing the efforts necessary to make our nation a strong, productive and happy one.
