The primary goal of Inter- serve is to provide service to the school and the community. This goal is achieved through such activities as the Senior Advisor Program, Freshman Dance, Chili Supper, and the Dance-a-Thon to benefit the Special Olympics. The students asked to be members of the Spanish Honor Society excel in Spanish. They furthermore exhibit good grades and fine citizenship in other classes. Spanish Honor Society has a two-fold purpose. It aims to recognize excellent work in Spanish and to promote an appreciation of Spanish culture. This year for the first time, the Society set up a tutoring program to help first and second year Spanish students. Other activities that transpired this year include a special trip funded by candy sales, a meal in a Spanish restaurant, and an International potluck dinner shared with the German Honor Society. The Spanish Honor Society also participated in the tri-language volleyball game against the German and French Honor Societies. This year’s officers were: Tammy McDaniel, President; Tiffany Trent, Vice-President; Kelly Grant, Secretary Treasurer; and Ms. C. Mott, sponsor. 97
