The Centinal Staff spent many hours preparing each issue of the school paper. The Centinal reported school and world news, features, editorials, sports and entertainment. The page editors and reporters learned a lot of valuable knowledge on how to put out a good quality paper. The staff also attended a journalism workshop at the University of Illinois. The Centurian Staff is a group of students devoted to putting together the yearbook. They take yearbook lab as a class, but also put in hours outside of class to meet the deadlines. This year the co-editors in chief attended a week long camp at Charleston, 111. The staff went to a workshop which helped to prepare them for their year on the Centurian Staff. A. Lisa Wendland. EGO EGO the school’s literary magazine, has monthly contests for any students who wish to turn in original stories or poems. The staff members then choose the winners who are recognized each month. At the end of the school year, the monthly winners, along with many other entries, are published in a magazine which is sold by the club for a small price. The members of the Speech Team compete in 11 individual events that include reading events, acting and interpretive events, public speaking events and broadcasting. Members participate in workshops, invitational tournaments, Student Congress and I.H.S.A. Competition. Through competition, members earn points for membership and degrees in the National Forensic League.
