CHARGERS PRESENT THEIR OF THE “Hats off to Chargers” Wednesday. October 22, marked the first day of the 1980 Homecoming week. Thursday was t-shirt day and students showed their charger spirit by wearing their Chargers, We are 1” t- shirts. The day we had all been waiting for was Friday. The day started off with the mum delivery to students and teachers. The traditional Home- coming Assembly was definitely a success. The lancers and cheerleaders performed. Senior Girls Council presented their skit, Student Council organized a class competition, and the assembly closed with the formal announcement of the Homecoming Queen’s court. Following the assem- bly was the parade which began on the south side of the school. The Var- sity Show was held in the auditorium at 5:00, preceded the chili supper which was organized by Interserve and Interact. The moment of truth came between the Chargers and Decatur Eisenhower at 7:30. The Char- gers fell to Eisenhower 31-6. Katie Gallivan was crowned Queen at half time. John McAuliffe was crowned King the following night at the Home- coming dance held in the Jefferson Building Saturday. October 25. 12 OPENING

CALAMITY JANE The wild and woolly western “Calamity Jane” was pre- sented as Centennial High School’s first musical of the Eighties. Starring Todd Manley and Jamie Frillman, the musical told the story of Calamity’s successful attempt to bring a star performer to the Golden Garter Saloon and enliven Dead- wood City. In the process, Calamity found her one true love, and as the curtain fell, married him. The musical was produced by Thespian Playmakers. 14 OPENING
