THESPIANS: Cflb' Play 5 the Chmg Thesp1an Playmakers were headed up by Ellen Gordon President Rhonda Gtllett Vice President Theresa Bowman Secretary Ron Fischer Treasurer Karlyn Gllmore Recording Secretary and Mrs Mouser as Troupe 1114 s Sponsor Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for a needy family as well as a puppet show presented for children who could not leave Dorrenbacher Hospltal for Christmas were presented by the group The puppet show involving Rhonda Gillett Allen Loch and Susan Smoot was covered on TV and in major news papers Three main activities were the fall production of Thornton Wilder s OUR TOWN the Spring musical Tl-IE SOUND One Act festival competition in which the Freshmen Sophomore junior and Senior Classes each presented a one act play 16 Centennial Thespians attended the State Conference in Ashland Aprll 3rd 4th and 5th The conference hosted by Medford High School and the Oregon Shakesperian Festival Association featured workshops in Varlous areas of theatre competition in improvisation duo acting m1me and ensemble acting and three full length productions GODSPELL OTHE LLO and WINTE RS TALE Centennial s scene from MACBETI-I was selected for performance at this conference 1 , V . 1 . , . . , , 2 7 V . , . , 1 l I . , . Such complaints and groans Were very familiar ones the day after the Trike -A- Thon, sponsored by Heliaca to raise money for Easter Seals Other activities of the National Honor Society included sponsoring an awards dessert, holding an initiation banquet for incoming members The Future Business Leaders of Ameri- ca proved to be busy this year as they par- ticipated in the Mothers March against Birth Defects, entered in the District Skills Contest, and held a paper drive and candy sales Oh. . .
