VARSITY TRACK young Ccam Prospers The team though young and inexperi enced d1d come up With a respectable 5 l W1n loss record This included a surprising upset of behemoth Rex Putnam and a f1rst place ln the Centennial Invitational bringing the trophy home again after a three year drought The seniors though few 1n number contributed greatly to the outcome of many an otherwise close meet Tim Hanley shone all year in the sprlnts and Bob Field was points in everything from the 440 to the half mile Not to be outshown Dave Roentz John LaMa1n and Duane Fmaas performed Well in the pole vault throwing events and long Jump respectively Underclassmen adding needed support included sophomore dlstancemen Gene Stone and Alan Roberts Who comblned for a very strong unit junior Greg Calhoun proved his Worth by qualifying for the State meet in the high hurdles and sophomore joe Abbott and Junior Mike Hedrick were both consistent 6 foot high Jumpers , . .- , - ' 9 .
