The girls Wrapped up their season with a successful League Record of seven wins and four losses. Senior Betty Brooks a setter was voted by her teammates as the Most Valuable Player High scorer of the sea- son was sophomore Kerry Servas who averaged six points a game Aside from their regular games the girls challenged the men s faculty to an after school game and trounced the un- prepared men 15-12 and 16-14 consecutively ,C 1 r.,kILi A -Ski 2 1 . I 'W-., QNX- I if W VARSITY BASKETBALL: Desire, l5'e14ch dzrry Umm Playing in the shadow of last year's Wilco Legaue Champions, the 1974-75 Centennial Varsity Basketball team was the team to beat. But the team to beat was no pushover this year and with the experienced coaching of Mr. Duane Brady earned a very respectful third LH the Wilco League Injuries slowed the team s progress early in the season and it was without Dave Crawford and jim Thompson that the Eagles relented to Parkrose by the narrow margin of two points Such a narrow mar gin m the absence of two starters indicated strength from the bench in Scott Burgess Tim Morris jerry Entenman, and Dan jackson, all of whom started at intervals throughout the season By mid season the team was playing strong and showed the desire which carried them toa 16 6 season individualism may not be the key to a successful athletic team, but when an individual does as much as jim Thompson it is worthy of note In his second year as a starter Thompson led the team in scor ing and rebounding was chosen for the first selected Most Valuable Player By Coach Brady The Outlook Award was shared by Brent Dickerwon and Bob Armstrong who each contributed heavily to the team s success Bob Armstrong was also chosen for the second team Columbia Division All Stars Scott Burgess A Junior shot the highest percentage from the free throw line with 782 The Desire Award given by the players, was bestowed on Jerry Entenman n 1 I .
