J vi 8. Hzosl-1 TRACK R reshmen and junior in Wilco League. The junior varsity track team was un- defeated this year. They closed out their season by beating previously un- defeated Rex Putnam, at the dual meet championship. Sophomores Duane Finsaas and Tim Hanley were important to the team's successes. Duane long jumped 21 feet, and Tim ran the 100 in 10.7. Both were members of the 440 relay team, along with Dale Danielson andlohn Gildow. With an undefeated season under their belts, many of these j.V.'s will move up and help strengthen the var- sity ranks. The freshmen continued the tradi- tion at Centennial of having good Varsity show strength teams. They breezed through the year with but a single 68-68 tie with Gresh- am to blemish their mark. On the day of the final meet with Rex Putnam, the freshmen had to swal- low their pride as they took a tough defeat. Matt Soots, Steve Chan and Curt Sayer were leading performers on the rookie squad. Soots was in sprints and hurdles, Chan in the sprints and long jump, while Sayer had numerous duties in the hurdles, pole vault, high jump and long jump. VARSITY BASEBALL , 8 agles come back in second halfg Cook leads team in hitting. The Centennial Eagle baseball team The pitching staff headed by Ron CH5 of 1973 finished out the season with a johnson and Dale Marx had one ofthe CHS bang.
