Centennial traveled to the district meet where they had no trouble dis- posing of their league rivals. The squad posted a low score of 42, leaving second place Lakeridge far behind with 63 This qualified the Eagles for the state meet, where they had finished in at least the top four for the preceeding three years. A gruelling 2.5 mile course was set up at Lane Community College in Eu- gene. South Eugene ran the strongest team race in the state's history-they scored a low total of 34 points.
