Baubles, Bangles, Bright Shining Beads. The junior-Senior prom was held at Portland State University Ballroom, from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. The group Music provided the sound. Refresh- ments were catered by P.S. U. A photographer was provided to take pictures for couples who wanted them. This years prom workers were, Kris Olsen-general chairwomen, Elaine Kuhn-assistant chairwoman, Todd johnson-Class president and general helper, Bernie McCrystal-decorations. The bids were yellow as the decorat- ing colors were yellow and white. There was no theme, but in its place was a verse on the first page of the bid. Bids were designed by Chris and Elaine. Awards Assembly A Sentimentallourney. Centennial's fourteenth annual awards assembly featured th gradu- ating class of 1973. The assembly, held in the gym, climaxed the seniors' last day at CHS. Kathy Dziewiontkoski and john Ray were the M.C. s. Becky Crim- mons recited memoirs of the seniors past four years. Various awards were given to well deserving students. Language awards included: Spanish, Terrie Johnston, French, Becky Crimmons, and Laura Zimmerman, German and English. The Science award went to Norm Cleav- land. Carol Luebner was selected as the outstanding Business student. journalism awards were given to two members of the Talon staff, Dru Soeh- ren and Francis lwamoto. lim Bryan, photographer for the Centhiscan, re- ceived the Lorna Davis Memorial Scholarship. The senior counselors, Mr. Grufke and Mrs. Burreson, announced Klaus Zoeller and Marion Rutledge as boy and girl of the year. The all-around athlete was Scott McCord, who had participated in foot- ball, basketball and baseball. gi Approximately 400 seniors await the beginning of the Awards Assembly.
