Doug Cook, Cathy Moore, and Carol Reames take it one step at a time as they cross the river. Spring opened the doors of Centennial with plenty of unexpected sunshine. Tans invaded the halls early in the season. As the girl's clothes became smaller the boy's eye's became bigger. The Miss Gresham Pageant, March 31, was a big event in Vickee Malk's an Martha Emerald's lives last year at school. Both were strong competitors in th con- test. Vicki sang while Marty acted a scene from Hello Dolly. Marty placed 5th in the competition. A pancake feed was held on May 15 to help raise money to take our basketball team to Hawaii the following season. Many people attended the successful money making fooder. Blood was donated on May 18 in the Centennial High School library for the Red Cross. Many students donated while others just didn't have the stomach or blood to spare! Dabney, Oxbowe, and Dodge Park were the scenes for the parties. Almost every hot day after school, the students would retire their books, pull on their cut-offs, bring their cup, and take off for the river! This was one Spring where you could really see the good times roll! SPRING ACTIVITIES 29
