Hilo, A.F.S. busy fun-filled weeks Oregon's liquid sunshine greeted our visitors from Hilo, Hawaii, once again. Despite the rain, team members and rally girls visited Lloyd Center for last minute Christmas presents. And then skipped a day of school to play in the not so generous amount of snow on Mt. Hood. Special attraction was the tradi- tional Hawaiian dance performed by rally girls during halftime at Centennial and at the Trail Blazer's game. Our Hawaiian friends were not the only visitors at Centennial. The week of Febru- ary 5 brought AFS students from various schools to ours. Yes, A.F.S. week started off with a bang as popping balloons were noted throughout the halls. Balloon sell- ing, a hot dog eating contest, a slave trade, and a whip creampie throwing contest headed up the weeks calendar of events. Mr. Ted Peetz was noted as the most profitable slave, selling for 5'l3.00. tw-- . x.
