Candle making and selling is how FBLA started out the new year. They have sponsored a paper drive and have created rag dolls and scrapbooks for various children's hospitals. They have been selling pennants during home games, as well as candy sales, Some of the members attended O.B.E.A. con- ference at the new Thunderbird Hotel. They are involved with a recycling proj- ect, collecting old newspapers and bottles. They have also made tray favors to give to the Doernbacher Hos- pital, and have helped fill ditty bags to take to Hillcrest School for Girls and Maclaren Home for Boys. Advisor, Mrs. Ballard, always finds time to keep FBLA active beyond her hectic schedule. Skiers happily hit the slopes in spite of bad weather 84 poor snow. Cen ski lowered their membership fees and passed out free sweatshirts to early dues-payers during the pre- winter months last year in an effort to increase their numbers. Once on the slopes, however, no one felt the need for more people, and everyone agreed, lt gets more crowded every year. Cen ski sponsored money-making projects such as candy sales in order to collect enough money for their party at the end of the skiing season. All in all it was a successful year and casualties consisted of only one broken leg and one cut thumb. Sec. Diane Dweak, V. Pres. Leslie Burnes and Pres.
