Candle making and selling is how FBLA started out the new year. They have sponsored a paper drive and have created rag dolls and scrapbooks for various children's hospitals. They have been selling pennants during home games, as well as candy sales, Some of the members attended O.B.E.A. con- ference at the new Thunderbird Hotel. They are involved with a recycling proj- ect, collecting old newspapers and bottles. They have also made tray favors to give to the Doernbacher Hos- pital, and have helped fill ditty bags to take to Hillcrest School for Girls and Maclaren Home for Boys. Advisor, Mrs. Ballard, always finds time to keep FBLA active beyond her hectic schedule. AFS Hosts Potluck Banquet While German Tunes Add Atmosphere. The AFS again sponsored a success- ful potluck dinner with each foreign lan- guage student and their families bring- ing a dish from the country of the lan- guage he is taking. Over 200 people at- tended the affair and were entertained by the music of Germany. The club put together baskets with flowers in them and took them to a re- tirement home near Centennial for their public service project.
