Parlando Develops the Speaker The interest in Speech activities and in public speaking is greatly increased by the work of Parlando during the school year. The members worked very hard on one of the major events of the year, The Showboatf' Parlando has also sponsored a sock hop and sent all of its mem- bers to at least one speech contest. Attending one or more speech contests per semester is the requirement tor becoming a member of this tast-growing club. Both the president, Jim Blashfield, and the advisor, Mr. Lamb, have worked to make Parlando the success it is.

This year's editor was Harriet Haverkate and the advisor was Mr. Cook. Harriet Haverkate is busy putting the finishing touches on the Cen thiscan.
