For eleven years, Maurie was a devoted servant of Centenary during which time he served as the administrative adivsor to the campus media. Enduring 3 a.m. phone calls, swiftly depart- ing editors, and a radio station without any money, Maurie kept the presses churning. Within the confines of the Yoncopin are captured forever our likenesses, hopes, our very youth. It has been a Herculean effort but a satisfying one. Special thanks to Julia Van Tiem, Brian Ingalls, Cathy Busch, David Cole, Jess Moore, Jude Fou- quier, Angie Gill, Ann McVay, Dan Villasana, Jeff Teter, Angie McClurg, John Purdy, Debbie Hetrick, Dr. Earle Labor, Robert Ed Taylor, Shayne Ladner and an extra special thank you to Maurie Wayne. Nonetheless, this fearless group fre- quently continues to improve and upgrade its equipment and content. Pictured on the right are Russ Hodges - - Station Manager, Peggy Miles — Program Director, and John Purdy — Assistant Station Manager. A special thank you goes to Maurie Wayne, Eddie White, and Kim Taylor. One expression of that relationship is a religious activities program that offers opportunities to students and faculty for spiritual growth and healing. This program is sponsored by the Chaplain ' s Office with Chaplain Robert Ed Taylor and Student Assistant Dale Holstein guiding the activities. The program of religious activities involves a multi-directional approach to the needs of growing persons. Groups and structures are provided that center upon worship, the Sacrament, personal growth, fellowship and recreation, intellectual stimulation, and counseling. The term Methodist Student Movement serves as an umbrella to cover these various structures. The program is open to all persons on campus. Front: Gene Finnell, Dale Holstein, Fr. Davidson Dr. Davidson taught at Centen- ary for forty-two years before his retirement in 1970. He received many honors and awards during his distinguished career, includ- ing an honorable doctor of laws degree from his alma mater, Hendrix College. He is fondly remembered as the professor who taught more students than any other faculty member at Centenary. No man can reveal to you ought but that which already lies half asleep in the dawning of your knowledge. The teacher who walks in the shadow of the temple, among his followers, gives not of his wisdom but rather of his faith and his lovingness. If he is indeed wise he does not bid you enter the house of his wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind. from The Prophet — Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931) 252 Student Index Abbiatti, Michael Dean Abraham, Ramona Marie 80 Adams, Barry L.
