To borrow from Shakespeare, ' tis not hand, nor foot, nor arm, nor face . . . nor any other part belonging to a man. Rather, it is that indefinable thing — that which marks every human being, which de- termines temperament, character, and any of a multitude of other things. Some call it, as I, the soul. it is a beauty of the soul that marks these two, a frame of mind, a being that says those three words, not, I love you, but, Let me help, an open heart, a clear mind, a helpful word. How do you explain two people like this, other than to say that they are . . . and we ' re glad of it. PMH 46 i Maa ' ' • Who ' s Who in American Colleges and Universities During the fall; a list of juniors and sen- iors nominated for Who ' s Who Among Stu- dents in American Colleges and Universi- ties was presented to the faculty for consid- eration. The faculty, in choosing the fol- lowing seventeen people, considered cam- pus leadership, scholarship, participation in campus affairs, and qualities denoting fu- ture potential. After the selections were made, the names were approved by a na- tional committee for the honorary directory of the nation ' s student leaders. sag 3 5 Vj ? - ,; ?i : ii iri ' Raymond Seibold 48 John Taylor 49 Theresa McConnell Paul Heffingfon K •f _ ' - £ - - • , ■% ■■' ' ■■•V ' WlSHal . ... , 55 ■, , m p. m i -, ■- • ■■■d -+!-- : ,. v.. -%. . . When students get together to do their own thing, anything can happen . . . and usually does. The best part of it all is that these are people we all know . . . and enjoy a little more and understand a lit- tle more . . . because we feel a little closer to them than we ever could to a one-night stand. The music is good, the comedy happy and light-hearted, and the atmo- sphere informal. In the immortal words of Joe College, Ain ' t it great? Right: Talent plus. Allen President of Centenary College of Louisiana The coming of a new President to Centenary in 1970-71 marked what all hope will prove to be the beginning of a new life for Centenary. His kindness, ability, and understanding have strengthened our faith in the worth of our college. Small wonder, then, that his return home from Eu- rope should be an occasion for a welcome party, and for celebration. Administration repression is scarcely evident here, as students and faculty come together to greet this man. One might even wonder wheth- er it is not possible that genuine affection is displayed here — eh? 168 169 Academic Deans Thad N. Marsh, Dean of College, Below. Shirley B.
