No sights, not even reverie or quiet little card games, are sacred to peeping photographers who have been harassed by des- perate yearbook editors. You may notice desperation at work quite often in this book, but don ' t knock it if you ' ve never been caught two days behind deadline without any pictures. 20

A pictoral representation of the year would hardly be com- plete without a tribute to the efforts ofthe controversial Forums Committee. While the Committee did manage to bring a few speakers to the campus, perhaps its greatest contribution was to point out the fact that there are students who want to know the other side. If James Farmer had been fact instead of fiasco, this page could present a more thorough picture of student inquiry and interest. Expounding on the familiar tenets of southern conser- vatism, Senator Ellender attempts to win back straying young liberals. Most kept on straying. Norman Young exhibits a vital interest in the senator ' s message. Dick Grisham, who bore much ofthe brunt of the Com- mittee ' s attempts, chats pleasantly with the guest. Note the constant right-handed gesture of our speaker. Bob Dickerson seems to have extracted some sort of oath from the senator. This should have been taped for posterity, no doubt.

At least once a year, it becomes necessary for even the least fastidious to wash sheets and various other articles. Even after two years, the washing machines in Cline look beautifully new and unused. 21
