Dedication Dr. Joe J. Mickle, president of Centenary College, received his B.A. degree at Southern Methodist University. He later took his master ' s degree at Columbia University and received the honorary doctorate of laws degree from Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas. President Mickle ' s greatest contribution to Centenary, its students, and its future is his labor on the building program and endowment fund. When the new School of Music is completed, it will be the thirteenth new building completed during Dr. Mickle ' s leadership. During his nineteen year career as head of Centenary the endowment fund has grown from less than a million dollars to an excess of eight million dollars. In special appreciation of the outstanding work we feel it fitting to dedicate this 1964 YONCOPIN to a man dedicated to the cause of furthering Centenary College.

1964 Christmas Open House Dedication of -Cline Dormitory Dr. Joe J. AAickle assumed the office of President of Centenary College in 1945. In that year he and Mrs. AAickle took residence in the President ' s home across the street from the administration building. In their nineteen years as President and first Lady, Doctor and Mrs. Mickle have been host and hostess for many social occasions honoring faculty, students and guests of the College. Among the several annual events given by them are the Christmas Tea for the faculty and the Open House for Graduating Seniors. Open House at Women Department Club for President and Mrs. Mickle.
