Senior History ing. This mighty group of dignified Seniors started their long four -year journey down the Road of Higher Education September, 1945, hd ,oyr Q . in I 'with an enrollment of approximately thirty. Anna Faye Chaney was 5, elected president of the class to guide us through the first stru 3 gling year. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith were selected as class Ma E ' and Fa. Mrs. Ann Cann n was our sponsor, Q . T - By the time we entered our second year as Sophomores, we were A getting rather accustomed to the Halls of Cement High and were no f longer called nLitt1e Green Freshmenu. The high light of that Q1 ,year was a line party given to us by our class Ma and Pa, Mr. and H Mrs. Harry Smith, whose son Jean was our president. This year 5 5 Mrs. B. J. Tucker acted as sponsor. - Guided by Mrs. Virgil Bible, ou sponsor, we, as Juniors, ac- v' complished much. We had as our candidates in the King and Queen 1 race Bertha Lee Koehler and Donald Robertson. We didn't win but T r we did cone in second. Ne were entertained by several skating parties during tae year also Mrs Bible entertained us with a party and Weiner roast at her home The two great events of the year were the Junior plav and the Junior Senior banquet Red Headed Step-Child a comedy, was presented to a ver large audience on March 9, l946 Financially this event established a record not surpassed in recent years On may 8, 1946 we enter +H1HSd the Seniors and faculty with a delightful banqnet presen ted in a beautiful flower garden Toasts, speecnes, music and the Maypole dance were the outstaxding numbers for the evening The officers for this year were PTGSIGDUD, Bill Dahl, Vice Pre sident Donald Robertson, Secretary and Treasurer Robert Dotson. 1 v Our last round started with 20 Seniors in a money making moo for a good spring trip Our first money project was the Queen con test and the carnival Our King and Queen candidates were Bill Dahl and Dorothy Nell Sites Although we d1dn't ann me didn' come in last THB next event was a skating party in November During the Christmas holidays the Juniors and Seniors met to gether and had a nice Christmas dinner and exchanged gifts At the present we are working on our last school play, mamma's Baby Boyn We are leaving our picture panel as a gift to the school it never hurts to have a few bright faces to add a little cheer to the halls Yes, this is our last year but we aren't a bit glad We realize we are gping to miss a lot privileges and fun we have enjoyed these past four years last class officer election brought forth the following, sident, Donald Robertson, Vice president, Floyd Blalock, Secretary, Margaret Jo Potts Treasurer, Robert Dotson, Re ur Pre l'A7 ll 4f1l'I.l I' .Ill Jfdflfnl l'I' l' A747 l'd'I'l'l'4' A 1 1 , , 9 3 5, I 5 i 1 a r lift X.L,4 1 K' 2 U L ' 4 ' . Colene Akins her charm and neatness she leaves to Velma Douthit, whom vw hope it will please. Jack May leaves his dark, charming and dashing way to Robert Hughes. The great personality and sportsmanship possessed by Bill Dahl, we leave to the shool, dvr use in every ball game either a large or small. Those fingers of Rose Trevino's that are so good at tickling I'vries, she leaves them to Joy Haught to use on typewriter keys James Ford leaves his ability to tell tall tales to Duane Niblett. Floyd Blalock wills his dictionary of nHubba, Hubba,N nOh, w kid,!I NT Wenonah Hanger leaves her husky WBetty Coedn voice to Joan Rodgers and Doris Ely. Donald Robertson leaves his ability to stay up all night and still be Donnis Stepp bequeaths her famous statement NI just don't have time for anythingn to Joy Liles.
